Apart is Poland's leading jewellery designer, maker and retailer in terms of financial results (turnover and net revenue), number of stores (over 200), employed staff (nearly 3,000 staff), products on offer as well as brand power and prestige. Apart's achievements have been appreciated and awarded in prestigious competitions.Nowadays, the Apart chain store consists of 200 stores across Poland. Their products are also available online. Apart products comprise a vast range of jewellery and watches. The brand is famous for market's most extensive selection of diamond pieces, but its offer also includes designs with other gemstone such as sapphires, tanzanites or pearls. Apart's success was made possible thanks to excellent craftsmanship, technological backup, competent warehousing and in-company services. These help run production effectively as well as support both the physical and online store related services. A modern high-capacity warehouse and comprehensive logistic solutions guarantee a wide choice of products, which is broadened continuously.

Apart app

Task

We began to cooperate with Apart on the first task, which was to develop a loyalty application. Apart had already been gratifying their clients' loyalty through an ongoing Apart Diamond Club programme. Being highly aware of their customers' needs, as well as new technological trends, Apart decided to transfer their Apart Diamond Club programme onto a mobile loyalty app. First, we were tasked with developing an application based on the Apart Diamond Club programme. Once we had implemented and published the loyalty app, we began to enrich its features with m-commerce functionalities. The m-commerce app was to perform three main functions:

  • facilitate online shopping be means of a customer friendly and intuitive app,
  • reduce the time customers needed to reach Apart's offer by using a native mobile app,
  • enhance and strengthen Apart's brand character.

What we did

We faced several challenges while designing the app for Apart. One such challenge lay in relating the luxurious and prestigious character of the brand that Apart represents. Our team rose to the challenge and delivered an interface which combines the sophisticated design, so strongly associated with Apart, with simple intuitive navigation.On the technological side, stage one of our work was to implement and integrate the loyalty system. Its attractiveness and, at the same time, technical complexity stem from the fact that the programme accumulates points from a variety of sources onto a single user account. Additionally, we implemented functionalities such as a wish list or virtual card and also we enabled online purchases via a mobile website, which was changed consecutively in stage two. Stage two consisted of implementing m-commerce functionalities, which has allowed in-app shopping. A precise search system, which would enable customers to shop a chosen Look, was at the heart of the project. By no means did it end our cooperation with Apart, though. We continue to develop the app and implement further functions. This native app is suitable for both Android and iOS phones.
